The sulfur-rich thermal waters of the Saturnia baths have flowed since ancient times, with the first evidence dating back over three thousand years.
The Roman Emperor Claudian built the Via Clodia to connect Rome to Saturnia, already a famous destination at that time for the well-being of body and mind.
The Saturnia baths can be divided into two parts: the Cascate del Mulino waterfalls and the SPA. The waterfalls are free and open 24/7; it is mandatory to park in the designated guarded area to avoid fines. Dogs are allowed, and at the base of the waterfalls, there is a bar with bathrooms and changing rooms.
The SPA is just one kilometer away, and it is in the central pool of the Saturnia SPA where the thermal water spring flows before reaching the waterfall through the ancient canal.
